2019 Summer Internship Program to Include NAPEEF Courses

The AOBA Educational Foundation’s  2019 Paid Summer Internship program will include the “Intro to Engineering” and “Principles of Electricity” courses offered by the NAPE Educational Foundation (napeef.org) which involves a total of 60 hours of highly respected industry training.

These two entry-level courses will be incorporated into weekly, full-day training sessions during the 12-week internship which runs June 3 through August 23. By summer’s end, in addition to hands-on learning under the guidance of many of the region’s top building engineers, AEF internship graduates will have completed invaluable education – courses that are pre-requisites to advance a career in building engineering, operations and maintenance.

The NAPE Educational Foundation’s “Intro to Engineering” course focuses on lighting, bulbs, voltage and wattage at fixtures, ballasts, transformers, bathrooms, thermometers, locks, hand and power tools, meters and basic safety. The “Principles of Electricity” course starts with the basic elements of circuitry, safety rules, understanding of terminology and simple mathematical calculations. It prepares students for all other aspects of engineering.
