AOBA Educational Foundation Welcomes New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the AOBA Educational Foundation (AEF) is pleased to introduce Christy Ronaldson, CAE, as the Foundation’s new Executive Director.

Christy has over 20 years of experience working with trade associations, charities, and business partners. Before joining AEF, Christy served at the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC), Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC),  the Family, Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB.) She has extensive experience across a variety of communications and membership outreach roles that will greatly benefit AEF.  Christy is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential.

At AEF, Christy is responsible for providing organizational leadership and ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the Foundation. Her primary focus is on networking and outreach efforts to promote commercial building engineering and multi-family maintenance careers.

“Christy brings over two decades of strategic and collaborative leadership experience and a track record of innovation and partnership,” said AEF Chairperson Diane Peters. “I am thrilled to welcome Christy and work closely with her and the rest of the leadership team to continue to support AEF’s mission.”

The AEF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was created by members of the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington (AOBA) to address the talent crisis in the commercial real estate industry by focusing on the critical need to promote careers in building operations, engineering, and maintenance. We connect job seekers, training centers, workforce development programs, and employers – all to help companies recruit, develop, train, and retain the next generation of skilled tradespeople in the Metro DC region. Our work provides long-term, tangible economic benefits and a workforce development pathway to stable, lucrative careers.
