AOBA Foundation “V3 Certified,” October Event on State Program & Connecting with Veterans

The AOBA Educational Foundation (AEF) was recently recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a “V3 Certified” organization. AEF is also hosting a free webinar, “Talent Pipeline Connections: Accessing Military and Veteran Talent,” on Wednesday, October 5 at 11 am. Click here to register.

The event will focus on Virginia Values Veterans (V3) and related programs that can help your companies better connect with Virginia’s Veteran population. The V3 Program is a FREE state certification program for employers.

The V3 Program not only aims to educate and train companies on why it is a good business decision to recruit, hire, train, and retain Veterans, but also to help those committed companies meet their hiring goals. V3 Certified employers have access to its sister-programs under the Virginia Department of Veterans Services to provide OJT/Apprenticeship programs, fellowships, free certifications, awards, direct contact with Veteran job seekers, and more.

Michael Glascock, V3 Northern Virginia Regional Program Manager, will provide an overview of the program and how your company can become certified as a veteran friendly employer in the state of Virginia. The webinar will examine ways AOBA members can connect directly and collectively with this exciting program. A summary of the V3 program is available online.

Becoming “V3 certified” is a relatively easy process. It involves the completion of a simple enrollment form and a one-hour online training program on best practices for hiring and retaining veteran talent and working with V3. Webinar attendees are encouraged to begin this simple process before the webinar. The V3 enrollment form is available online.

You do not need to be based in Virginia to become certified. You only need a desire to hire Virginia’s Veterans! Click here to register.
