Summer Internship Program Wraps Up with Job Offers!
Following a 12 week paid summer internship, more than one third of the 25 interns have already been offered full-time, entry-level positions by sponsor companies! Based upon feedback from their supervisors, the AOBA Educational Foundation anticipates that most of the intern cohort soon will be employed in the field.
Over the summer program, interns completed two NAPE Educational Foundation courses: Introduction to Engineering and Principles of Electricity – while working side-by-side with building operators to put their new knowledge into practice.
Two interns with the highest performance both on the job and in the classroom were named as Class Valedictorians at the graduation program. Kaylin Bell, sponsored by Corporate Office Properties Trust, and Shawn Porter, sponsored by Boston Properties, were both offered positions with their sponsor firm. They are pictured below with their certificates!
Here’s what one of our 16 generous internship sponsor companies said about the program:
Working for the first time with the AEF Summer Internship Program has been remarkable from onboarding, recruiting, interviewing and thoughtful selection to first day boots on the ground! Our intern, Shawn Porter, quickly assimilated into the Boston Properties culture and it has been exciting to watch him develop into a confident part of the BXP Team,” said Denise Hogan, Regional Property Manager, Boston Properties.
